Fire Emblem: Awakening

I finished 1st run through today after getting the game last Friday. All I can say is.... BEST FIRE EMBLEM EVER! First of all, for the first time ever, tactician (aka player) gets to attack mobs (always bothered me how tactician never gets to battle)!!! Not only that, tacticians are really overpowered! Also, if you turn on first person mode during the animation, pretty fun to see spells form around you before exploding on the screen. :D

One of my favorite parts of Fire Emblem is the support system, not the watered down one from FE: Radiant Dawn, but the good ones from the gba versions where you can get different endings depending on character pairings. Well, this Fire Emblem further improved on that system! Not only do you get different text endings, you can marry characters and they create babies!!! The babies can be recruited, and they're buffer versions of their parents. So for a good solid day, all I was doing was play matchmaker. Pretend it's a dating sim, complete with pink sparkles!

Let's see... plot... usually not Fire Emblem's strong suit.... In fact, most Fire Emblems I can't remember the plot for... just something about dark dragon's rezzing and you kill it and who knows what Radiant Dawn was doing, something with a green haired rogue and girl with magic something. This one is actually quite fun. It's still the same old dark dragon's rezzing, team must stop the res, fail, but kill dragon anyway. But they added some twists and turns that will probably allow me to remember the plot for at least a year or two :D. It's also nice to see some mention of Marth. Nice treat for people who's played the old fire emblems or the remake, etc.

Replay value: Errr...... if I was to replay, I'd replay for the support values, I'd definitely marry Chrom off to every girl before chapter 8, so I can save the S rank conversations. O yeah, definitely turn on casual mode next time, but I did play through once with Classic Mode on, so can put that pride away now. Reloading with every RNG death is painful (15% chance to hit for 30hp, what are the odds... and it hits!).
